Kia Orāna kōtou kātoatoa! Welcome to Cook Islands Language Week!

Today marks the first day of the 2023 Cook Island Language Week! Through the next seven days, we are focusing on the theme of ‘Ātuitui’ia au ki te au peu o tōku kāinga Ipukarea’ which translates to ‘Connect me to the traditions and culture of my homeland.

Our students are welcome to wear their traditional dress during the week to celebrate with us as we intentionally deepen the bonds of our people to their language through their familial ties, the cultural traditions of their enua/vaka, and the songs, dance, and pe’e’s of their family.

Stay connected online by visiting the official NZ Cook Islands Language Week Facebook page.
