At Red Hill School - We are our own Taonga. (Treasure)

Kia Ora, Malo e lelei, Kia Orana, Bula Vanaka, Namaste, Beinvenido, स्वागत हे Everyone,

WOW another very busy fortnight of learning and experiences. Students have been actively involved in a range of events including ANZAC Experiences, Counties Touch - Y3-8, NZ sign language week and the anti bullying Pink Shirt Day.

As a school we are committed to helping our students develop in the best possible way and are proactive in preparing them for future skills and higher learning. Every opportunity to take part in hands-on activities is helping our students to improve their writing and inquiry skills.

Our focus whakatauki for the next fortnight is -

He waka eke noa.

(We are all in this together)

This whakatauki is about how important it is for our Community and School to work together to support our students to be the best that they can be.

I have noticed a number of students continuing to arrive at school after the 8.55am bell. This means that they are late for school. Every minute they are late is a minute less for learning. Students need to be at school, everyday ON TIME. We have reminded all students of this expectation and ask our Community to help us too. Mrs Mac will be sending a text to Whanau if their children are late on more than one occasion in the same week. This is so that Whanau are made aware that this is happening.

Starting 25th May, the driveway will be closed to everyone except for staff members to enter and exit the school. As the school is growing, a new building is starting at the back of the school-behind Pukeko - and all parking and the driveway must be kept clear for contractors. Pick up and drop off for students will be outside the school on Redcrest Ave - rain or shine!
