Red Hill Primary Board of Trustees

Mr David Hopkins ( Chair), Patricia Edwards, Janeane Chandler, Theola Little and Mr Pulefolau form our current Board of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees ( BOT) works closely with the Principal and staff of Red Hill School to ensure every child is supported in their learning.

We are excited at the prospect of a new school being built. This has taken a number of years working with the Ministry Of Education to become a reality. The Principal, leaders and teachers have worked to ensure the transition from the current work spaces to the new school, when it is finished, is a smooth one. This has meant adopting different ways of teaching and learning.

The BOT has been impressed with the changes taking place across the school as teachers and students teach and learn together. Our Year 7 and 8 students have been working with digital devices for three years now. Leaders and teachers report stronger engagement in learning (particularly for boys) and students who are using a wide range of sources to access and use information which they then use to create something new which they can share with others (not just in the school but everywhere!!).

In addition to the teaching and learning in the school we have transitioned from the old school into the temporary village. Not all classes needed to move as the Year 5 - 8 students have stayed in their current buildings until the new buildings are ready. Once the new school is completed Whanaakitanga and Amua Hub buildings will be demolished as part of the last phase of the building project.

It is an exciting time for our school and the community we serve.
